Description

POLYESTER RESIN 1L + HARDENER

BLUE-CAR BRAND

Polyester resin is intended for manual application to repair surface defects. When combined with packaged glass mats, a properly made laminate creates an elastic and damage-resistant structure. Its advantage is resistance to atmospheric factors, greases, oils, and diluted acids, allowing for wide application in boat building, automotive, and also in construction.

Substrate:

  • steel
  • wood
  • metal
  • polyester laminates
  • aluminum
  • old paint coatings

Do not apply directly to reactive primers and one-component acrylic and nitrocellulose products.

APPLICATION METHOD:

  1. Preparation of the substrate: Clean, sand, and degrease the surfaces to be worked on. Degrease again, then dry thoroughly.
  2. Preparation of the glass mat: Prepare an appropriate piece of glass mat so that it overlaps at least 2 cm beyond the boundary of the damaged area.
  3. Preparation of the resin : Mix thoroughly to achieve a uniform color of 100 weight parts of polyester resin with 2-3 weight parts of hardener. Application time after mixing with the hardener is 10-15 minutes at 20°C. Do not exceed the recommended amounts of hardener.

Application:

  1. Apply the resin mixed with the hardener to the cleaned area using a brush.
  2. Place the mat, press down, and saturate with resin using a brush. Depending on the damage, several layers can be applied. Minimum working temperature is 10°C. Do not pour unused resin mixed with hardener back into the container.

Drying time:

45 minutes/20°C. After hardening, the laminate surface can be mechanically processed or leveled with polyester filler. Temperatures below 20°C extend the drying time.

Sanding:

Initial sanding should be done with P80-P120 sandpaper.

Storage:

Store in original packaging, tightly closed, in a dry, cool place away from heat sources and ignition, at a temperature of 5 to 20°C. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
